Processing documents

Someone opens every PDF invoice and retypes the total, the date, and the tax ID.

The manual process

A supplier emails a PDF invoice. Someone opens it, types the fields into the ERP, checks it against the purchase order, updates the payments spreadsheet, and emails finance.

Systems involved

  • PDF
  • ERP
  • Spreadsheets

What stays with a person

Invoices that do not match their order still go to a person. The ones that match do not.

Illustrative example. Names and numbers are made up. The yearly figure is not a quote, a typical result, or a promised saving.
